Successful day of the open sewage treatment plant of the Southern Waldviertel Municipal Wastewater Association in Klein-Pöchlarn attracts numerous visitors

In bright sunshine, the sewage treatment plant of the Southern Waldviertel Municipal Wastewater Association in Klein-Pöchlarn opened its doors to interested citizens on Saturday, April 13th, 2024. Around 160 people accepted the invitation and were inspired by the fascinating insights into the world of wastewater treatment.

The day was opened by association chairman Ing. Johannes Weiß, who warmly welcomed the visitors and set the mood for an informative tour of the facility. The guests were then personally guided through the various areas of the sewage treatment plant in groups by the two sewage attendants Martin Peböck and Günter Schachenhofer. They gained exciting insights into the processes of wastewater treatment and learned interesting facts about the importance of efficient wastewater treatment technology for the environment and the health of the population.

Meanwhile, the Klein-Pöchlarn Music Association provided visitors with delicious food and refreshing drinks to ensure their physical well-being.

The day of the open sewage treatment plant in Klein-Pöchlarn was not only an opportunity to take a look behind the scenes of an important facility, but also an opportunity for citizens to find out about environmental protection and wastewater treatment. We are pleased about the great interest and hope that this day has helped to further increase awareness of environmental issues.

  • New Year's reception 2024 15/01/2024 New Year's reception 2024

200 people accepted Mayor Ing. Johannes Weiß's invitation to the New Year's reception.
His program started with a review of the past year. He reviewed projects, events and road construction projects.
He thanked Bianca Wadsak and Werner Tober for their commitment to maintaining the protective path at the Generation Park.
He also gave a rough outlook on what projects await us in 2024.
But events such as the Danube Country Festival and the children's holiday games are also back in the event calendar.
This occasion is used annually to hold awards. This year the club's congratulations were all about youth.
We were able to congratulate the U15 player community on their surprising but well-deserved championship title.
The fire brigade youth were also asked to appear in front of the curtain because they can now look back on 10 years of existence.
Last year, a number of local businesses also celebrated their anniversary and were also congratulated by Mayor Ing. Johannes Weiß and Deputy Mayor Wolfgang Eder.
    These company anniversaries were:
10 years of master painter Ronald Thir
20 years of the Erndt company (under the ownership of the Hirner family)
30 years of Nibelungengau Music School

A special highlight of this year's New Year's reception was the wine tasting of the Klein-Pöchlarner Heunisch vintage 2023.
The tasters were asked for their expertise. The wine was evaluated based on its appearance, smell, taste and harmony.
Many people also took advantage of the opportunity today and took on wine sponsorships to ensure the continued existence of the wine project.

With his closing words, Mayor Ing. Johannes Weiß wished the people of Klein-Pöchlarn all the best in the new year.
He also expressed his thanks to the sports club for the hospitality at the New Year's reception and the musicians of the music club, as well as the students of the Nibelungengau music school for the musical accompaniment.
