Europe Day 2025 - 75 years of the Schuman Declaration

The market town of Klein-Pöchlarn, a municipality with a strong pro-European stance thanks to its sister municipality of Monsano, Italy, is celebrating Europe Day 2025. European flags were raised at the town hall and the elementary school.

Europe Day is celebrated annually on May 9th for peace and unity in Europe. We are marking the anniversary of the 1950 Schuman Declaration, which laid the foundation for European cooperation. The historic proposal by French Foreign Minister Robert Schuman is considered the birth of what we now call the European Union.
