The municipal council, which is elected by secret and direct ballot, is the decision-making and supervisory body. It is made up of the municipal councillors. In the municipal council election, lists of electoral parties are actually elected. These are then allocated seats in proportion to the number of votes received, using the d'Hondt method. Only people who have stood as candidates on the nomination of an electoral party can be appointed to the municipal council. Several times a year, the municipal council makes important municipal decisions at public meetings. The municipal council meetings are open to the public.
